Fescue (festuca pratensis) is a perennial grass is grown for seed. Fescue straw is a by-product of the harvest. Fescue straw provides a good source of roughage and is used in both beef and dairy production.

Harvest/Yields
Pacific Northwest (PNW): Harvested once per year. Fescue is typically harvested during the months of July and August (dependent on weather conditions). Straw yields average about 2-3 tons/acre.
